'A delightful and restful 4 days in a beautifully refurbished cottage. The time passed so quickly and we didn't have time to see the WW2 museum. Oh well, we'll just have to come back again. Thank you Duncan for making us so welcome and your 15 years of hard work refurbishing. It was worth it!'
Family from Merseyside - 28th June 2019

Family from Cheltenham - 2nd June 2019
'We didn't travel very far to get here but it feels like we are miles + miles away in this little peice of heaven. The cottage is even better than the pictures. The fresh bread was beautiful. We were both amazed by the kitchen. This is the first time we've used AirBnB so we were slightly apprehensive of what the experience might be like but it has been a dreamand we have had a wonderful and peaceful stay. Thank you Duncan. We hope to return one day.'

Couple from Lytham St Annes - 24th May 2019
'Loved the cottage - the countryside is lovely and managed to avoid most of the rain, thought how beautiful Suffolk is. We also ventured into Norfolk on 2 days. If all the chairs in the kitchen had seating pads , maybe in the gorgeous red and grey, then all the little people would be a little higher up at table. Not a criticism, just a thought. The freshly baked bread was a lovely thought and thouroughly enjoyed our tea in the garden. Thank you so much Duncan.'
Family from Yorkshire - 3rd May 2019

'What an absolutely beautiful cottage. We have loved every moment of our stay. Our welcome was lovely and personal, just what we needed after a 2hr drive. The cottage was spotless and really is a home away from home. This is our first trip to the county and area and we have fallen in love. It hasn't even mattered that it's February because it has still been so lovely. Elijah has many pictures for his memory box to look back on in the future of his first holiday to Suffolk! Thank you for everything Duncan x'

'We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage, so well equiped and thought out. On arriving we were met by Duncan who was such a lovely and accommodating host. It was lovely talking about the journey the cottage has been through with Duncan at the helm. Don't miss having a look at the photo album on the bookcase. Such a nice touch to be met with fresh bread, jams and tea/coffee/milk. I've never eaten so much bread, we took the opportunity to use the Victorian bread oven, which was good fun.
With extras such as WiFi (I did laugh at Maslow's hierachy of needs), Netflix, air con, wood burner. We will certainly stay again. Thank you Duncan for sharing your project - a real retreat from the normal pace of life.'
Couple from Clacton - 17th December 2018

'Thank you Duncan for providing such a lovely escape from our normal lives, the home and garden are really nice and you seem to have thought of everything to make it just right for a relaxing break. Your work on the property must have been a real hard slog but the end result is fabulous, a genuine labour of love to ensure all of the history of the property is not lost. Hope to see you again.'
Family from Bedfordshire - 17th September 2018
'Lovely cottage, chose it because red is my favourite colour. Thank you Duncan for the lovely bread, butter and Tiptree jam, thought it would go nice with a cup of tea, but realised we had forgotten to pack any tea bags....but...then found some in the tea cannister. Very impressed with how clean everything was. Tried the shampoo and conditioner as well (but got the wrong way round as I had water in my eyes). Recommend the Museum of East Anglin Life in Stowmarket, but is better if it's a nice sunny day. Diss is also nice, we went to Katies Kitchen for coffee and scone, very pretty table cloth and curtains, there are lots of charity shops there (if you like charity shops) (now I'm going home with more junk than I brought). Also recommend the book on the shelf in the cottage. Make Me by Lee Child...but there wasn't enough time to finish it...shame'.

'Thank you Duncan for such a great stay at your wonderful cottage. Enjoyed every minute!'

Many thanks to you Duncan we wish you well.'

'We loved playing the games and we love the pizza oven. This is a really nice house, thank you Duncan. Love Georgina Aged 6
I've loved playing with the different garden activities and have spent more time with my family rather than my phone! I also enjoyed the beaches and, along with my sisters, have found a new love for the 2p arcade games on Southwold Pier. Thanks, Annabel (14)
I love the 3D TV and want to take it home! I've also loved playing badminton, even when it rained. The pizza oven was great and made the pizzas taste really nice. Thanks, Eleanor, Age 11.
We have, all of us, vastly appreciated the time and thought which has, quite clearly, been devoted into the restoration of the cottage, which has been such a wonderful part of our holiday in Suffolk. A huge thank you to Duncan'

We wanted to explore Suffolk but instead always wanted to get back here and enjoy it. Can't think of anywhere we've been that's been better. Only thing that went wrong was that England lost - pity Duncan wasn't the manager!'
Couple from London - 13th July 2018

'Duncan's cottage is the best, the kitchen is fantastic, there is no cottage better than this one. OMG the little cupboard in the room I stayed in was really cute, it would be perfect for someone like me. The bedside table is a perfect home I made for my teddy bears. I had fun making pizza, also the beds are comfortable and the bathroom was really cool. But the best part was spending time with my family and celebrating my Mum and Auntie's birthday. Hope to return again soon. PS I like the TV and the bean bags'
Rachel, aged 9, from Chelmsford - 20th November 2017

'Such an enchanting cottage, which we have both fallen in love with, the stars at night can be seen through the sky-light in the bedroom and are breathtaking in their true beauty without street lights. The kitchen is homely, spacious and a joy to come down to in the morning - The bed is extremely comfortable to retire to at the end of the day. Lovely patio - we spent a great evening toasting marshmallows and making wishes under the stars. 10/10 for an amazing host - Duncan and thankyou for the welcome. The delicious homemade bread and milk in the fridge. Thankyou for having the vision to create this wonderful cottage and to share it. We go home rested and re-juvinated.'
Couple from Essex - 28th September 2017
'Very nice and comfortable cottage. Duncan gave us a warm welcome with a nice loaf of bread! The surroundings are beautiful and you can enjoy walking around. It's very quiet and relaxing around here. We liked very much to visit Norwich, Bury St. Edmunds and several houses and gardens. The houses and villages are beautifully kept.
Suffolk is not too touristic and that's very different from, by example, the Cotswolds. We haven't met other Dutch people here (tourists) except the woman in the Co-op in Eye! She lives here already for seven years. Such a strange co-incidence that we met the only Dutch lady who lives here!
We had a lovely stay in Bakers Cottage. I will 'pin' some photos on my Pinterest page.'
Couple from The Netherlands - 18th September 2017

We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and so pleased that we chose to stay in this gorgeous cottage!'

It goes without saying that Louis took to you and was particularly fascinated by your garage. yuo have simply thought of everything; your attention to detail won us over. The homemade bread, the handsoaps, everything so clean. Your personable approach is second to none - we have had a super week and we will be back, with a taller, older Louis so watch out! Thank you.'

It is a beautiful scrupulously clean cottage and so tasteful. The beds are extremely comfortable which has been an really important part of the holiday for us! The welcome was second to none and Duncan has been an extremely attentive and patient host.. Thankyou, this is much appreciated. We enjoyed Oxborough Hall and Southwold Pier (but it is expensive!) The sand dunes at Gt Yarmouth were a hit and so was the tea shop near the Pleasure Beach. We went to Pleasurewood Hills theme park which had one excellent ride for teenagers but the rest of it was better for younger ones. We were glad we used out Tesco vouchers. Thankyou for a lovely week - we would definately come again.'

(The bread was delicious and the tea provisions greatly appreciated when we arrived). We marvelled at the interior - this was before we had seen the photographs of the original barn! The location is just so wonderfully quiet which, I know we will talk about 0n our journey back, as we head down the M5 to the hustle and bustle of life near Bristol. We hope that we may be back in the not too distant future. Many thanks.'
